Plans for Spring Break

Spring break is awesome.  This past week has sucked horribly.  So many tests and quizzes and quests.  I can not wait to finally be home.  You see, I have a wonderful girlfriend back home and I only get to see her like every other weekend.  I hate to complain but it really does suck.  I am so excited to spend an entire week with her.  Our year and a half is also the fifteenth so that is even more exciting.  My plans for spring break are as follows:  First, I arrive home and unpack.  Next I go to pick up my girlfriend and we go out to eat.  Most likely buffalo wild wings, because that place is delicious.  After that we will probably go to the woodfield mall to shop for some stuff.  After that I think we are visiting her grandparents.  So yeah, I am just glad I will get to see her.  So this spring break I am probably going to apply for some summer jobs.  I really do not want to work at the ymca again for the summer camp thing.  It is not terrible, it is just kids can be very infuriating and I have the patience of a person with not a lot of patience.  So I hope I can get a really easy like busy work job, like stocking shelves somewhere or working at like an outdoors place.  But ya spring break should be a ton of fun.  I am so ready to finally get a break from this place.  Some home cooked meals, a nice clean shower, a comfy bed, and a free convenient washer machine.  This week will be great.  Spring break starts friday at like 11 for me.  I am not too sure what time I am going to get home, but spring break is gonna be spectacular.

Fishing because I can

So whenever I have to do a free choice blog I chose to do one about fishing because it is very easy to write about fishing.  Fishing is awesome.  The worst part of catching fish is no part.  That is correct, fishing is flawless.  So if I had the choice to do anything I wanted I would choose to fish because it is awesome.  This summer I was fishing and hooked a big, enormously large, well relatively large, well kind of large, fish.  I battled it with all of my might for like 5 minutes and got it to the boat.  I saw it once it got close to the boat and my heart leaped for joy.  It was a big walleye.  You can tell it was a walleye because of it crazy big eye, and it had a white tip on the end of its tail fin.  So I am by myself in the boat trying to get the big fish into the boat.  I grab the net with one hand and hold the pole with the other.  I go to net the fish and the net snaps in half.  So I’m like holy cow what do I do now.  So I roll up my sleeve and grab the bottom of the net and lean over the side of the boat and net the fish. It was pretty awesome.  It turns out it was like 7 pounds.  This is not like huge for a walleye in the state of Minnesota, but it is still pretty dang big.  The warm weather outside is really making me think about fishing.  I would go fishing right now if I could.  I do not care what I am fishing for.  That’s like 283 words so I’m gonna ramble about fishing for a little bit longer.  I think fishing is awesome and I can’t wait to go fishing again.

Describing my writing process

When I start writing the first thing I do is wait til the last second before whatever I am writing is due.  I usually think of anyway I could get out of writing and if it is truly necessary.  Next when I realize i have to write, I look at the criteria sheet for the grading and just do everything they ask for plus a little extra.  I hate writing with no purpose, or just to have "fun".  Writing can be done anywhere you would like to write.  It is so boring and not any amount of fun, so I would choose to write when my life depends on it and that is it. So writing in a dorm room is probably where I like to write.  I have to write here because most of my classes require some sort of written work, so in the dorm room works best.  I like to listen to music while I write.  Listening to music can usually pass time a little quicker.  If I were forced to write I would probably choose to do it while I was fishing.  That way I could cast, reel in, write a word, and cast again.  This would be the best way to write because the fact that I am fishing would make up for the despair that overwhelms me when I write.  Writing in a boat would be kind of difficult though.  The waves would cause the boat to rock causing the pen notebook/paper to sway and making writing more of a pain than it already is.  Some may argue or just bring your lab top to write on.  My response would be, who would be crazy enough to bring their expensive lab top out to a middle of a lake, where you are casting a fishing pole and bringing in slimy fish that most likely will come in contact with you hands or the lab top.  Typing with slimy fish hands is not ideal.

More Fishing

So fishing is really fun.  I like to fish a lot. In a boat, on a lake, on a dock, by a pond, sometimes even a river, are the places I enjoy fishing.  Where I usually fish up in Minnesota, there are many species of  fish.  There are walleye, large mouth bass, yellow perch, blue gills, pumpkin seeds, sunfish, dog fish, northern pike, and small mouth bass.  So I am joining the bass fishing team here and I am super excited.  I like fishing.  When I go fishing, I like to go fishing for extended periods of time.  I usually bring my ipod, blast the volume, listen to some Tom Petty or some Fray and just relax and  fish.  So Gavin Degraw is coming here pretty soon.  I got my ticket with a couple of friends.  So he only has like one good song that I know but it should still be pretty good.  We are in the like 20th row so that is not too bad, but still pretty far back.  So ya fishing is really fun and I enjoy fishing a lot.  I have a ton of different lures and baits I like to use when I fish depending on what kind of fish I am fishing for.  Some people say fishing is really boring, from now on I will look them in the eye and say try blogging, it is five hundred billion times worse.  I would rather go fishing for an entire day and not catch anything, then blog on a regular basis.  I wish there was a fishing class here that involved no blogging whatsoever.  That would be awesome.  To whoever reads this I apologize, fishing is awesome and blogging is possibly the most boring thing I have ever done, and i have done a lot of boring things.  If I am bored writing this I can only imagine how bored you are reading it.

Commercial

Some commercials I have seen recently have been quite humorous.  I was on a bus back from visiting my girlfriend when the superbowl was on so I missed everyone of those commercials and the entire game.  Yesterday I spent like an hour watching all the commercials I missed as well as 2 hours of sportscenter trying to see highlights i missed during the game.  The one that was most memorable to me was the m&m commercial.  The commercial consisted of a girl brown m&m talking to her girl pals when these two guys start snickering at her.  They think that she is naked because on the inside of an m&m shell in the milk chocolate which is also brown.  So the girl m&m gets offended and what not, and says only a fool would think i would show my milk chocolate or whatever.  So then the red m&m walks in, spots the brown m&m and is like woah ok it is that kind of party and rips off his m&m shell like clothes and starts dancing to I think an lmfao song, not too sure though, I seriously hate that band, as well as whoever sang tonight, tonight.  But ya that m&m commercial really made me laugh.  If you look closely the girl is holding a glass of water in her hands.  Do you know what lives in water?  Fish live in water.  I love fishing and can not wait for spring to come and the lakes to unfreeze so i can go fishing all the time.  But ya that m&m commercial was pretty much the best one i can remember.  the dorito's ones continue to make me giggle but can not bring out a full laugh.  The go daddy.com ones are just plain stupid.  Danika patrick is making nascar look like less of a sport than it already is.  She acts like a complete bimbo and makes it look like anyone can drive a car around in a big circle.

Fishing

So I really like fishing. Fishing really helps blow off steam when you angry and is just relaxing.  This summer I caught a lot of fish.  I caught this 7 pound walleye.  I caught it on a one and half inch lure and I was by myself so I had to net it by myself.  So I went to net it and my net broke in half where the actual net part connects to the handle. So I grabbed the main part of the net and pulled up my sleeve and just stuck my arm in the water to net it. I was excited.  The Bulls played the 76ers tonight and got their butts kicked.  Deng is still hurt and not playing but the loss was pretty bad.  The super bowl is this weekend.  I'm picking the patriots but i really do not care who wins it.  I sure hope peyton manning comes back.  I am not going to happy if he retires.  He has always been fun to watch and the sport would suffer if he does retire.  I'm a vikings fan and the vikings are not one of the teams he would be projected to be traded to so that kinda stinks but still exciting. I found a new song today thats pretty sweet.  Its called vanilla twilight by owl city. i know its old as heck and you could argue the point that their only good song was fireflies but i actually like this one too.  It has been pretty nice out recently. i hope the weather continues to stay nice. i hope spring comes soon so i can go fishing.  Baseball season starts in spring though.  And baseball being less exciting than soccer really does not appeal to me.  If you thought guy jogging around for like 2 hours was bad, imagine watching a bunch of steroid using cheaters sitting in a dugout for a half the game or standing still on the field with their only excitement happening maybe once every 10 pitches that take forever to deliver because the flow of the game is so slow. Oh and do not forget the unnecessary stops in the game so the player can have tea time on the pitchers mound. I strongly dislike watching baseball on tv. Going to an actual stadium is fun though.

Book Review

So this is about my favorite book as a child. I really did not like reading then nor do I now but if  i would have to choose captain underpants.  I "read" like the first five of those books.  The book had ridiculously large font, lots of pictures, and lets face it, we all just skipped straight to the flip o ramas with no regard for the story.  The cover of my favorite one had toilets on it. Like evil toilets with teeth.  This was probably my favorite book because it was entertaining and really involve like no reading.  I think the illustrator chose this kind of cover because it was dynamic and the title really comes out at you..  I remember doing this book for a book report.  It was awesome. I do not know what happened to these books. Last I remember was like the fifth one, but I guess there is like a total of eight.  These books had some small impact on most of all childhoods. They were always something to look for at the school book fair, or an easy way out of book reports in the fourth grade, these books will always live in my memory forever as the first "novel" I ever read. So ya.... 90 more words..... Captain Underpants and the attack of the talking toilets was pretty sweet.  The illustrator did a pretty awesome job on the cover. These covers are very recognizable.  That giant toilet is drawn pretty well also. I like the drawing style. Like its almost looks comic book. I have never read or seen a comic book so I really would not know. It looks like news paper cartoons. I think the author drew like this to appeal to kids. Including the toilets also appeals to kids. Kids find this stuff hysterical. Heck I find it a little humorous.  The illustrator did an awesome job on the cover and it is pretty awesome.
